Evergreen and Coscon to Combine Far East - South America & Far East - Africa Services

To cope with the soaring bunker price and in the light of deteriorating market conditions between the Far East and South Africa / East Coast South American, Evergreen and Coscon will combine their existing jointly-operated Far East – South America (ESA) service and Far East –Africa Express (FAX) into a new ESA service.

The new ESA service will operate with a total of eleven 3,500 TEU vessels which Evergreen will deploy seven vessels and four vessels from Coscon. The first vessel to depart will be 'MASS 0816-015W' from Shanghai on July 6, 2009.

The port rotation is as follows:

Shanghai - Ningbo - Kaohsiung - Yantian - Hong Kong - Singapore - Tanjung Pelepas - Durban - Cape Town - Montevideo - Buenos Aires - Paranagua - Santos - Durban - Singapore - Hong Kong - Shanghai.

Through the combined weekly service a wider scope of port calls will be offered, as well as fixed day weekly departures.
