Rate increases in the Far East and Indian Sub-Continent to Europe And Mediterranean Westbound Trade

Following the announcement of its Freight Restoration Programme, initiated on 1 April 2009, Evergreen Line customers responded with great understanding. However, current freight levels still do not permit us to recover even our basic costs on the Far East and Indian Sub-Continent to Europe And Mediterranean Westbound Trade.

We believe it is essential to bring our freight back to sustainable and viable levels so that we can continue to provide the comprehensive network of liner services that our customers tell us they wish to see maintained. We therefore regret to announce that Evergreen Line must now implement further rate increases on its Far East and Indian Sub-Continent to Europe and Mediterranean Westbound Trade as part of its General Rate Restoration programme.

These will be as follows:

Service Scope
From Far East (Including Japan) and Indian Sub-Continent to Europe and Mediterranean Westbound

Effective Date
Jul/01/2009 (on board date)

Quantum

a. USD 325/TEU for direct calling PODs
b. USD 375/TEU for non-direct calling PODs

Remarks
The increases apply to all cargo and commodities, including reefers and special equipment.
