Evergreen launches Asia-United States Service (AUS)
Evergreen Line announces a new service linking Asia and the South U.S. West Coast, called the Asia-United States service (AUS).
The fixed-day weekly service is a combination of two former TPS(Transpacific Southwest Service) and CPS(China - South U.S. West Coast Service) services. The butterfly service is divided into two loops, with Loop A linking Yantian/Hong Kong/Kaohsiung and South U.S. West Coast ports, while Loop B calling Shanghai/Ningbo/Qingdao. The new service utilizes nine 5,086-7,024 TEU vessels. Sailings will commence on April 19, 2008. Ports of call on the 63 days rotation are as follows:
Yantian - Hong Kong - Kaohsiung - Los Angeles - Oakland - Shanghai - Ningbo - Qingdao - Oakland - Los Angeles - Yantian
Though the port coverage is almost the same as before, the new butterfly service will ensure more punctual service on the Trans-Pacific trade.
